Hospitality

Hospitality is essentially the relationship between a host and a guest. While this can occur in a variety of scenarios, it's often used by businesses to provide customers and clients with better services.

For communities, leisure is a serious business. A new resort or a refurbished hotel can bring immense value to an area and its economy, but blending the latest improvements with local history and landscape requires thoughtful and sustainable development.

Hotels make up a significant amount of our projects. Over our many years working in this sector we have learnt that whilst their modular construction can be very similar, no two hotels are the same.

First of all, the geographic location can give you much to consider, as well as client preferences, economic factors, user experience, space compatibility and the supply chain you are dealing with. We have found that flexibility is more important than ever with hotels, as there are so many techniques and systems that can be applied to create the right solution. We have a huge breadth of experience we call upon when working on hotels, including pre-cast concrete systems, steel modular buildings, load bearing masonry and expertise in standard concrete framing.

The modular form of a hotel allows for very slim construction and structure. The slimmer we can make the structure, the cheaper it will be to build in terms of facades. This will also maximize the number of storeys possible. There is also almost certainly a need for long spans within a hotel structure. We have significant expertise and experience in this area and can deliver long spans suitable for lobby and conference areas. We also understand that hotels are serviced differently to other types of building and we bear this in mind when designing and developing the scheme.
